Hi,
Does anybody have any details of code readers that actually work on L200's?
We have a 2004 Warrior, a 03 Shogun Sport and a 08 Did that all have various lights on,
I have been through various cheep ebay readers, none of which have worked at all on any.
Splashed out on a Sealey VS865 last week that is supposed to do it all,
In obd/eobd mode it reads (emission) data from the 2008 truck but nothing from the others
On Mitsubishi mode it wont comunicate with the car at all and I could do with finding out why my airbag light has come on..

This one works on new shape 2006 on.http://www.carparts-sale.com/t69-obdii-pro-code-reader-scan-tool-diagnostic-obd2-can-bus-p-405.html, they are available in uk just google T69.

Earlier models are not OBD2 compliant, there are a few code readers , I believe snap-on do one, someone will come on with info i'm sure.

I would have a word with the manufacturer/supplier it should work, and you paid a lot for it.There are no 'special procedures' to read air bag faults and there are 47fault codes for air bag system.

The dealer has been good about it, He tried an updated version of the mitsubishi software on wed which did not help, yesterday he swapped the whole thing for a new one but still no joy.
I tried it on a 2003 Audi TT this morning and the unit works fine on that.
Have also tried it on a 04 Shogun Sport, a 08 Di-d and a 57 Outlander.
On the old L200's and the shogun sport nothing at all.
On both the Outlander and the 08 L200 I can read the obd information and get the ecu numbers from the cars so it is comunicating with them.

I am wondering they use a diffrent protacal for parts?
Maybe a obd/eobd (connects with 'can standard fast') for the emmisions part (ie the bit that they legally have to make to the obd standard) then something else for airbags/abs/etc?

Billy I dont have the answer to air bag codes, mine reads emissions when in mitsubishi mode and gives live info whilst running/driving.
I have not had any air bag faults yet so cant tell if is reading them, you could be right in that Mitzi only supply reading for legal compliance with OBD2 regs and air bags may not come under that?

For your earlier L200's there is a way of reading the codes without a scanner in the club section of site.

Not had chance to see my Snap On dealer for a while, do you know if a key card is available for the Ethos to read pre 2006?

Tried the ethos on the 2008, reads the codes for emissions stuff fine (or just the same as the 100 tools:) won't do anything with regard to the airbag though.

I expect a MUT 1, 2 or 3 would work as the codes are the same throughout. Don't know anybody round hear who has one, or anywhere to buy one at an affordable price. The dealer has one but won't share it Sad

No problem reading the post 2006 L200 - all codes and live data.
Pre 2006 is not EOBD compliant.  MUT II or III, or hopefully now, some of the Snap-On diagnostics.
MUT III are around 2K.
