Hi There, I'm new here with my first L200.
I'm interested in learning the right way to drive off road.
I'm in West Yorkshire and I'm happy driving up to an hour if it's for an all day event.

Thanks

Events are hard to organise but I think if there were workshops or Video how to's would be good.

Also if we all turned up in our L200 where would we all Park? I have trouble now fitting the Barbarian Beast into a parking slot.

Just on a personal level I prefer to make a weekend or long weekend. From experience I know that the easiest way is to have a club stand/display at an existing event/show. A lot of the vintage/country shows are good for the variety of exhibits and stalls thus keeping family members happy. One I attended years ago at Ringmer also had an off road club giving rides round a fairly taxing course for charity.

I've found informal, but regular meets at a local venue - pub or café work well. For example I belong to my local VMCC (Vintage Motorcycle Club) Section and we meet on the last Sunday (late) morning of the month at Buckfastleigh Railway Station café (Steam Train terminus). It's informal and a come and go arrangement. There's no requirement to ride or even own an old bike. People even turn up in cars - or L200's.... Some treat themselves and each other to breakfast, some just coffee. Some go off for a ride later in the afternoon. Great atmosphere, lots of - ahem - Mickey taking. The venue has to be reachable for the majority of local members, obviously, so just off a main highway is perfect and roughly centre of the most membership population - so requires a local organiser or representative to compare a membership list with a map. Maybe a data protection conflict here so a job for Chris initially perhaps? Please, oh please do not over organise the club. I like informal. From informal meets, green laning and social events will follow organically.

I work in Civil Engineering in IT and do 3 on 3 off 12 hours however insurance would prevent me doing the off road properly as only 23 and premium would be horrid.
