Hi all. On my single cab l200 1997 it has the diff lock pump on top of the rear axle but there's no switch on the dash board on the right hand side of the steering wheel. There's a blanking cover there. I pulled it out and on inspection there's a plug with a wire loop on it with 2 wires, my question is does the diff lock operate when you engage the 4x4 stick? comes up with the word wheel lock on the dash in 4h and 4l

The rear doff lock only works from a switch to run the air pump.  The word wheel lock lighting up just means you're in 4wd.

Thanks for the advice  Smiley . Do you think if I pull the wire loop out and plug the proper diff lock switch in there it would work? Or just run a direct live feed from the battery, fuse in line and a toggle switch to knock it in and out when needed?

Also looked on flea bay and there's a compressor on there. It only has two wires so shouldn't be that hard to modify the old girl

Hi all had a look today the two wires with the loop in the dash are for the lights in the dash board.had another rummage and found another plug in there, I pulled a diff lock switch out of my 4 life double cab and plugged it in the single cab and hey presto after 17 years of not having a diff lock, the compressor fired up! Well chuffed  Grin
