hi guys, got l200 classic shape pickup,i have oil leaking down on the gear box bell housing from i assume the rear of engine, from what i can see it looks like the rear top end of engine. is there an oil pressure switch in that area or is it something more sinister!?
its not pissing out but noticable on rear of engine and box
regards Alec

Bit of an expert on oil leaks seeing as I have changed every flexible on the motor! There is a small diameter pipe at the rear of the engine that feeds the turbo, have a look at that. There is a half moon seal at the rear of the rocker cover that sometimes leaks, neither is difficult to fix.

If you need to remove the altenator use the instructions in this link, http://www.mercedes.gen.in/other-stuff/mitsubishi-warrior-2004-alternator-replacement-the-quick-way/ I did it last year to change the brushs and it was not that big a deal.
