Hi everyone.

Got an knocking/rattle coming from the truck when its fully warmed up and off throttle. Does it in every gear, neutral, but not when i engage the clutch or throttle on under load. There's nothing worn or loose externally, the noise is def internal coming from the bellhousing/oil sump area. Now i'm thinking this is either gearbox or bottom end, but I just can't pin point it.

Checked oil pressure, perfectly fine idle and driving. Here's a video of the noise.

Any ideas? Some people have said its the gearbox layshaft bearing.

The clutch pesuure plate bearing rattles and is quite normal mine has done it for years, if you depress the clutch does it go away. looking at your video I am thinking big end play on the over run but I would get a second or third opinion, if it is the case do it as soon as as it will fail big time if you leave it

Big ends usually knock on load - not rattle on the overrun off load. If the noise is coming from the bellhousing it could be the dpf.

I'm not over the hill. I'm still trying to get up it!
