Hi

I've not had the L200 long and apart from the rear leaf springs needing doing its been fine.

However the last few times from cold it has struggled to start and then will be a bit lumpy on idle.
Then yesterday it really struggled to start and I can't now drive it as when I put it in gear it won't rev up. The clutch bites but I can't accelerate. If I put it in P or N then I can rev it like normal. There are no error lights on the dash.

It's a 2.5 l diesel automatic.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Try changing the fuel filter first off, then report back.

Where is it located? Is there a good resource available for this engine I.e pictures, guides etc?

Thanks

Poor starting from cold usually would be Heater plugs or fuel filter, I don't understand why it revs ok in neutral so I would suggest plugging in the diagnostics to see if any faults have logged, What year is the truck?

2008

The issue has got worse as it really struggles to start now and when it does it's very lumpy and even cuts out. Also a lot of white smoke when it eventually starts

You need to plug in the diagnostic and look at the fault codes, from those symptoms could be a crank sensor

Is there a DIY way to read the codes? My old car would flash the codes when ignition was turned in a certain way for example. Or maybe a cable and app on my phone?
I can't get it to a garage obviously.
